Hi Michel
Good to hear from you - yes, we arrived home last night and are
currently recovering from the trip home! We will start telling the
people that matter about your marvellous land in the next few days
when we start catching up with people.
Thank you again for all of your help - especially when the flight in
Toliara was delayed, and also for the tour of Tana - a pleasant
surprise and very enjoyable.
Thanks again Michel
Regards
Adelle and Mike Fischer

Hi Michel, This short note is to thank you for making all the travel arrangements for my wife and I during our visit to Madagascar from 10 to 31 August 2008. Not only did you make many recommendations as to what sites you thought we should see but, once agreed on, you then immediately made all the land, air, accommodation and meal bookings, making sure too that a vehicle, driver and guide was there to meet us at every venue. As a result our whole trip went like clockwork and we never had a worry throughout our stay. I also understand that you inspected some of the hotels we were due to stay in before our arrival so as to ensure their standards would meet our needs (eg king size beds, etc,). For this I also wish to thank you. Please feel free to give my contact details to any future prospective client you may have and I will be happy to endorse Ortour to them.

From the family Veronica
SDMy family and I travelled to Madagascar in August 2010. The trip was not preplanned and very last minute as we were not planning on making the trip. I contacted Michel Rakotoasimbola through the internet and asked him for an itinerary that would take us down to the south west coast. In a very short space of time, Ortour had put together a fantastic tour that took us through Isalo National Park and then down to Ifaty and the Spiny Forest. Unfortunately, we were forced to drive as the national airline is always overbooked but Michel put together a very good deal with a four wheel drive vehicle and driver and guide.
In short, the trip was very well organized. The staff extremely helpful and flexible. The highlight for us was the camping trip to Isalo National Park with a trained Wildlife Ranger providing a professional and exciting experience to visit the lemurs of Isalo.
I would highly recommend Ortours services and for further information, please contact veronicabower@teledata.mz or 00258 823044972 Mardi, 28 Décembre 2010
In December 2009 a friend and I set off for a three week long ’off the beaten track’ holiday in Madagascar. Our trip took us from Antananarivo (Tana) northeast to Maroansetra, snorkelling off the Masoala peninsula, a taxis-brousse trip south to Mananara before moving inland for the ‘lemur circuit’; Mahambo – Andisibe – Ansirabe – Ranamofana – Anja. While we stopped by some of the traditional tourist hot spots (Andisibe & Ranamafana) our choice of trip took us mainly into rural Madagascar where few tourists are to be found.
We had an English speaking guide/driver with us the entire trip which was invaluable as few people in Madagascar speak English (even hotel & restaurant staff in Tana don’t speak much English). All the menus, TV channels, place names etc is in French or Malagasy. The Ortour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and took really good care of us. Despite being two women alone we never felt unsafe during our entire trip. The vehicle we had at our disposal was a very comfortable 4x4.
An eye opener was that flush toilets are very rare outside of the tourist hotels. The most common toilet you will encounter between hotels is a hole in the ground (no seat) with a very unpleasant smell as most people seem to miss the hole. We travelled on a limited budget and had expected the worst but were really surprised at the good quality of the accommodation. While some of the accommodation was basic, all the places we stayed at were very clean and

With 3 friends, traveled through Madagascar for 3 weeks, October, 2010. We used Ortour http://www.ortour.com/ to make all the arrangements. They did a fantastic job at a bargain price. They provided accommodations in top hotels, superb guides and drivers, internal flights on Air Mad and gave us excellent planning advice. We visited Perinet, Ranomafana, Isalo, Ifaty, Montaigne d'Ambre, Ankarana and points in-between. Saw roughly 20 lemur species, same number of chameleons and uncounted birds. One of the best aspects of the French colonial rule is the legacy of great food (local wine: Antsirabe Grand Cru quite drinkable)
