DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: TANA
Upon arrival into the capital city of Madagascar, known as Tana, clear customs and meet Ortour representative for transfer to Anjary Hotel for overnight (midrange) hotel de Louvre (top).
Day 2: TANA – ANKARAFANTSIKA
It takes almost whole day driving from Tana to Ankarafantsika. The National Park of Ankarafantsika, in Northwest of Madagascar, is a mosaic of dense and dry forests. Ankarafantsika is known for its lakes, the last refuge of leading species. It is also a haven for lemurs and endemic birds.
Ankarafantsika National Park is home to eight lemur species, including Coquerel‘s Sifaka and the recently discovered Microcebus Ravelobensis, Brown lemurs, fat - tailed dwarf lemurs and Sportive, Woolly, Grey mouse. Stay in a Bungalow (high midrange)
Day 3: VISIT AT THE PARK
In the morning, walk to the main heart of the Park to see lemurs, birds, reptiles, and so on.
Ankarafantsika is a den of birds and lemurs. This particularity makes the conservation of this National Park a real leitmotiv. Eight species of lemurs have been observed in Ankarafantsika: one strict diurnal species, two cathemeral species, five typically nocturnal species of which the famous Microcebus, the smallest primate in the world. 129 species of birds nest in the forest of Ankarafantsika. 75 among them are endemic. Ankarafansika is also home of local endemic reptile species. A total of 10 amphibian and 44 reptiles’ species are recorded within this Park

Day 4: ANKARAFANTSIKA- MAHAJANGA
Leave Ankarafantsika and take an early drive toward the capital of the western part of the island known as Majunga. Majunga is symbolized as the nation’s heart place of the giant Baobad. The baobab tree is famous for its emblem circumference exceptional 21. 70 meters to a meter above the ground, its height does not exceed 10 meters. It has more than 800 years. There is much to do around Mahajanga: The edge of the ledge, the range Amborovy, the sacred lake Mangatsa, circus red, leaving the beach, it suddenly finds himself at the center of small hills laterite, where erosion has done its work by digging small paths through which to distinguish the layers of rock of different colors forming a range of different colors.

Day 5: MAHAJANGA – DIEGO – MONTAGNE D’AMBRE
Early transfer to the airport for flight to Diego Suarez which is a unique port on the northern tip of the island
Then drive to Montagne D’Ambre. The national park of the amber Mountain spreads on 23,010 ha of which 18,200 ha for the National Park and 4,810 ha for the Reserve Special Forest of amber. It is a volcanic massif covered of forest spreading on 850 to 1,475 m. Six lakes and several streams and rivers furrow the park.
Montagne d’Ambre is where you can find the Amber mountain rock thrush endemic in the area.
The Amber Mountain is a high place of endemicity with 77 species of birds, seven species of lemurs and 24 species of amphibian. . Spend the rest of the night at the Monastère Lodge (midrange) or Nature Lodge (top)
Day 6: MONTAGNE D’AMBRE - ANKARANA
In the morning, leave Montagne d’Ambre and drive to Ankarana Reserve. The park of Ankarana spreads over 18,225 ha. Ankarana is the western extension of a chalky massif of the medium Jurassic that emerges from a basaltic plain located above 50m over the sea level. The plateau, that is a greatly eroded karst formation in surface, is constituted by a lapiaz of Tsingy.

Day 7: ANKARANA -DIEGO
Morning walk in the park to see the beauty of the reserve’s Tsingy and to spot many bird species, mouse lemur hiding in the hole of the tree trunk, and reptiles. Drive back to Diego to the Hotel Jardin Exotique (midrange) or Grand Hotel (top)
Day 8: DIEGO - RAMENA
Depart for short visit at surrounding of Ramena and the beautiful view the French mountain.
It will be so nice to spend few hours enjoying the breezy air of the ocean at Ramena and the lovely beautiful beach of Dunes Bay to the left there is a remnant reef with pools, then a steep drop off into the water excellent for snorkelling. Overnight at the Case en Falafa (midrange) or Meva plage (top)
Day 9: DIEGO - TANA
Transfer to the airport take an afternoon flight to the capital (Tana), and fly home
