1st day:

Leave Antananarivo to Ambohitantely
The reserve  of Ambohitantely is situated in the north west of Antananarivo on the right side of RN 4, about an  hour and half from Ankazobe.  This large forest is not popular yet but very important reserve, many species of lemurs are found.

A night camping

2nd – 3rd day:

Morning visit in the park, then continue to Ankarafantsika National Park and the reserve Ampijoroa.  Ankarafantsika National Park is home to eight lemur species, including Coquerel‘s Sifaka and the recently discovered Microcebus ravelobensis, brown lemurs, fat – tailed dwarf lemurs and sportive, woolly, grey mouse.
Ampijoro Reserve is known for its breeding centre : flat – tailed, tortoise and very rare ploughshare tortoise.These areas are both rich of birds.

Bungalow (two nights.)

4th day:

Drive from Ankarafantsika to Mahajanga.
Visit the city and relax.

 5th day:

A day visit to the Grotte d’Anjohibe and the cirque Rouge.
