THE TSINGY OF BEMARAHA - 8 DAYS
1st day:
Leave Tana to Antsirabe
( 170km )
Through the high plateau landscape: mountains and ricefield.
Visit the surrounding: lake tritriva, lake Andraikiba and
the workshop of semi – precious and precious
stones.

2nd day:
Drive from Antsirabe to
Miandrivazo ( 220 km)
Miandrivazo notable primarly as the starting point
for canoe trip down to Tsiraraka. This area is
one of the hottest place in Madagascar, so bring
thin clothes and umbrellas.

3rd day:
The beginning of the river – trip
With a dugout canoe seems a bit tiring advanture but
fun, also quieter and giving you a chance to observe
natural attractions. Well the boat is comfortable
and fast.
The first day of the river trip allows you to meet
cameleons and birds.

4th day:
The best part of the canoe
trip, passing the Gorge of Bemaraha, a thick forest,
sifaka lemurs and lemur fulvus are drinking water on
the side of the river. The bird life along the
river is particulary noteworthy.

5th day:
It is a good opportunity
to meet the people in the village, to learn the tradition
and the customs.

6th –7th days:
After finishing
breakfast, ten minutes walk following the chart to
reach the place where the 4 WD is waiting. Then
drive to the Tsingy of Bemaraha passing Belo sur Tsiribihina
(a small town between Morondava and the Tsingy). Arrive
in Bekopaka, the village nearest the Tsingy (1km)
A full day visit at the Tsingy of Bemaraha National
Park ( eroded limestones)
With 152 000 hectares, (66,630 hectares of which have
national park status ), Tsingy of Bemaraha is one of
the largest protected areas in Madagascar. The
Tsingy is a vast forest of rugged and eroded karst
pinnacles. There are about 90 species of birds,
eight species of reptiles and 11 species of lemurs,
including grey mouse, fork marcked, grey bamboo, sportive
and brown (or red fronted) lemurs, and Decken’s
Sifaka.

8th day:
Leave the Tsingy to Morondava.
Stop an hour at the alley
de Baobab to take a picture during the sunset. Madagascar
has around 6 to 7 species of baobab and most of these
species, you see in Morondava.
The beach at Nosy Kely is fairly attractive particulary
at its southern end.

9th day: Fly back to Antananarivo
