DAY 1: TANA

Arriving at Ivato international airport in Antananarivo, meet Ortour representative, and then transfer to your hotel for check-in and overnight in hotel du Louvre (Top) or Chalet des Roses (high-midrange),Hotel Tripolitsa (high-midrange), in BB.

DAY 2: TANA – ANTSIRABE

You will begin the tour by going south towards Antsirabe along the national road number “7”.The photo opportunities will be great. All along this strech of road you will see Merina tombs, and can watch the labour intensive cultivation of rice paddies,Ambatolampy is famous for their metalwork . When arriving in Antsirabe, visit the surrounding: sacred lake of Tritriva, and the workshop of semi-precious and precious stones. Overnight at: Top Hotel: Plumeria, in BB or in high-midrange Hotel: Vatolahy or Chambre des Voyageur or in Couleur Café, in BB.

DAY 3: ANTSIRABE –MORONDAVA –KIRINDY

We leave Antsirabe and long drive to Morondava, the capital of the tribe of ‘Sakalavan’i Menabe’. Stops are expected en route in hope to spot some species of birds, the Madagascar reunion harrier, Madagascar kestrel, Madagascar bee eater, sand grouse, Madagascar buttonquail and many more. When reaching Morondava, we continue driving to Kirindy Reserve, while stopping at the twin baobab and at the famous ‘Baobab Avenue’, for photo. Then, continue till we reach Kirindy, a private-owned reserve managed by a Swiss company. In fact, the trip in the west coast of Madagascar, precisely in Morondava is best known for its Baobab species since the country alone possesses a large number of 7 out of 8 species worldwide, and Adansonia grandidieri is the most majestic species reaching 30m in height and 8 m in diameter, lasting more than one thousand years. Among our top agenda this evening, night walk in the forest in search of endemic birds, lemurs, reptiles and other night active animals since Kirindy is the best place in the whole island to observe the rare pygmy mouse-lemur, fork-crowned lemur, Gray mouse lemur, western fat-tailed dwarf lemur and the red-tailed sportive lemur; with 50 species of reptiles, several bats, tenrecs, mongooses, the jumping rat recorded in this dry forest.

Overnight at Relais du Kirindy or in a Tent Bungalow (Camp des Amoureux) in BB.

DAY 4: KIRINDY –TSINGY

We will have a morning visit at this reserve. There are 40 species of birds, 8 species of lemurs including the brown lemurs and the dancing sifaka. These long-legged, white with dark patches, leap among tree trunks high in the canopy or in flat area when performing their dances as propelled by their powerful hind legs but continually maintaining an upright posture. After the morning visit, leave Kirindy and drive to Tsingy of Bemaraha traversing a huge river taking a ferry boat. After crossing this river, we shall lunch before continuing our road ending at our today’s destination, the famous Tsingy of Bemaraha. Overnight in High-midrange Hotel: Soleil de Tsingy or Orchidée de Bemaraha in BB or Le Grand Hotel in BB.

DAY 5: TSINGY VISIT

Full day visit at both the Great and Little Tsingy .Dress code is necessary as explained by your guide since the hike is a bit tougher requiring physical ability when taking the trail in this park. Scientists estimate that the park endemism rate reaches 86, 7%, with 11 species of lemurs recorded, with five families of Bats, 103 species of bird , 34 species of reptiles and amphibians indexed. Amid all this grey pinnacles sprout the green plants, pachypodiums and other succulent plants. During the hike in the park, there is a broad canyon that can be crossed in a swinging suspension bridge. A harness has to be put on and avoid skirts or flip flops. Expect to see the Giant Coua, the long eared owls perched on tree branch. Overnight in High-midrange Hotel: Soleil de Tsingy or Orchidée de Bemaraha in BB or Le Grand Hotel in BB.

DAY 6: TSINGY -MORONDAVA

This morning, we drive back to Morondava.A stop is planned along the way, specifically,on the Baobab of Lovers, Baobab Twin and  Baobabs Alley, forming a famous ‘Baobab avenue’ .The sunset and the sunrise are the  best moments to take a beautiful  picture,  when the colors of the trees change. Settle in Top Hotel: Baobab Café or Palissandre de l’Ouest, in HB or in high-midrange Hotel: Chez Maggie or Renala Sable d’Or, in BB.

DAY 7: MORONDAVA – MANJA

We leave Morondava and depart to Manja through the semi-desert landscape. Crossing several small villages surrounded by paddy fields. We shall reach the village of Manja in the afternoon. We do not have any choice for hotel in this village neither special interests except cultures since this is a village where we have to settle for overnight at Kanto Lodge (low midrange).

DAY 8-9: MANJA – ANDAVADOAKA

We continue our trip after breakfast leaving behind the village of Manja heading to Andavadoaka. Andavadoaka is a small village of fisherman, one of the best places to relax in this south western area. It is highly recommended for its lovely white sand beach. Overnight at Manga Lodge (midrange) or in Blue Laguna (top), in BB.

DAY 10-11: ANDAVADOAKA – SALARY

Leave Andavadoaka to Salary. A hundred kilometers north of Tulear, Salary Bay, is a white sand beach seven kilometers of coral reefs with enchanting colors, primary forest concealing wealth still preserved. Overnight at Salary bay (Top) or Francesco (Midrange).

DAY 12: SALARY – IFATY

Leave Salary going to Ifaty village situated 33 km northwest of Tulear.Ifaty is a quiet coastal fishing village popular for its long beach and its offshore coral reef and its diving centre. At Ifaty, you have the choice for snorkeling, scuba-diving or diving in the reef, or relax by the beach. It is also a good place to see some local endemic species of birds like the Running Coua, White-breasted Mesite, Chabert’s Vanga, and Madagascar Harrier Hawk. Overnight at High- midrange Belle Vue or Hotel: Ifaty Beach in BB or in Paradisier, (top) in BB.

DAY 13: IFATY – ISALO

Leave Ifaty to reach our destination of today that is Ranohira located approximately 280 km. Ranohira is the closest village in Isalo National park. This park is covered of 81 540 hectares of the eroded Jurassic sandstone covered with lichens, eerie look of rock formation, having a typical topography characterized by alternating flat grassy plains, deep canyons and sandstone ridges, sculpted by wind and water into fanciful shapes. Overnight at Top Hotel: Isalo Rock Lodge or Relais de la Reine, in HB or in Midrange Hotel: Isalo Ranch or Hotel Orchidée, in BB.

DAY 14: ISALO VISIT

After breakfast, we will have a full day hike in Isalo National Park along the Namaza trail. First, stop in ‘Natural swimming pool’ where you can spend few moments swimming. Don’t forget your gear in case! Then, another 4 km is inevitable leading to the camping site where three species of lemurs are comes for food, the ring-tails, the browns and the sifakas. After lunch, extend your hike along the sheltered canyons reaching the ‘Piscine Bleue and Piscine Noire’ (blue and black pool) and another short hike reaching the ‘cascade de Nymphe’, a bit deep water fall fed by natural streams slithering down below refreshing the heat. After the long but interesting hike, we head back to our hotel, then settle at: Top Hotel: Isalo Rock Lodge or Relais de la Reine, in HB or in Midrange Hotel: Isalo Ranch or Hotel Orchidée, in BB.

DAY 15: ISALO – AMBALAVAO – ANDRINGITRA

We leave Ranohira and drive to Ambalavao. We leave Ambalavao to Andringitra National Park located in the South east. It shelters the Bobby Peak, the second highest mountain in Madagascar. The nature, traditions and mystery surrounding Andringitra have made this Park a mystical and a panoramic place to be discovered. Settle in the Cottage for overnight.

DAY 16: ANDRINGITRA (DIAVOLANA HIKE)

We have our very first day hiking high up in a moderate walk reaching our first camping site following the Diavolana trail. The Park covers 31,160 ha. Perched on the heights, its altitude varies between 650 and 2658 m. It counts seven species of crustaceans, 205 species of bugs, 78 species of amphibian, 50 species of reptiles, 54 species of mammals (lemurs, carnivorous, bats…) and 106 species of birds. Andringitra is one of the most attractive parks because it has fabulous landscape form of rocky hills and lovely waterfalls and beautiful plants. DAY 17: ANDRINGITRA (PEAK BOBBY)

We start early in the morning trekking up until you reach the peak Bobby, the second highest peak in Madagascar. Early morning departure would be recommended in hope to contemplate the beauty of sunrise taken when reaching the top of this mountain. Some 1000 plant species are known within the National Park of Andringitra. After picnic lunch, we are heading back to our camping site. Camping on full board

DAY 18: ANDRINGITRA – TSARANORO

This morning, we are trekking to Tsaranoro Valley, located on the outskirts of Andringitra National Park in southern Madagascar. The spectacular rock walls of the massif and the mind-blowing beautiful valley offers numerous climbing routes and hiking trails. Overnight at the hotel Camp catta or Tsara Camp in BB.

DAY 19: TSARANORO- RANOMAFANA

We leave after breakfast reaching our today’s destination, and that is Ranomafana national park taking around 4 hour drive. We first stop at Anja community reserve, home of the ring-tails. After the visit, we continue to Ranomafana passing by Fianarantsoa, the capital of the Betsileo tribe. In fact, Ranomafana spreads on 41,601 ha. It was classified World Natural Heritage of the Atsinanana in 2007. It shelters a big wealth of endemic biodiversity. Ranomafana national park is home of twenty mammals and 12 species of lemurs. The park is also the genetic reservoir of some rare and endemic plant species. It is browsed by many rivers. Overnight at Top Hotel: Thermal or Setam Lodge, in HB or in Midrange Hotel: Grenat or Karibo hotel, in BB.

DAY 20: VISIT RANOMAFANA NATIONAL PARK

We devote the morning used to explore the park, a very dense forest with green lush vegetation, a mountainous area reaching 1300 m of altitude, possessing a great deal of flora and fauna unique in the world with wide varieties of orchids, carnivorous plants, harboring at least 12 species of lemurs including the golden bamboo, greater bamboo, Milne Edward’s sifaka. Also, there are 118 species of birds and 8 species of bats, as well as many rodents, reptiles, batrachians, spiders and butterflies. In the afternoon, you can relax in your hotel or spend the remaining time swimming in the hot thermal pool fed from the mouths of geysers or visit the village to closely interact with the locals in hope to learn and understand their cultures.

DAY 21: RANOMAFANA – AMBOSITRA – ANTSIRABE

This morning, we depart to Antsirabe, with a stop in Ambositra. Ambositra is famous and the capital of wood carvings in Madagascar. We shall visit some workshops and then you can have some time for shopping and bring back souvenirs at a few craft shops. After lunch, we continue to Antsirabe. Overnight at Top Hotel: Plumeria, in BB or in high-midrange Hotel: Vatolahy or Chambre des Voyageur or at Couleur Café lodge, in BB.

DAY 22: ANTSIRABE –TANA

After breakfast, we shall undertake some visit at the surrounding areas and in various workshops of semi and precious stones. Then, we drive heading to the Capital, Tana, passing by the high plateau’s mountainous and rice field landscape. While arriving in Tana, settle in your hotel for overnight at Louvre (Top) or at the hotel Chalet des Roses (Midrange), Hotel Tripolitsa in BB

DAY 23: TANA – ANDASIBE

We depart in the morning towards our destination today Andasibe taking roughly 4 hours drive. Upon arrival, visit the Vakona reserve where four species of day lemurs including the black and white ruffed-lemur, Indri, the dancing sifaka and the modest eastern bamboo lemur, would be ready for photo-op. You’d be enjoying the unforgettable fun time spent at this so-called ‘lemur’s island’. Overnight at Top Hotel: Vakona Forest Lodge (Top) in BB or in Andasibe Hotel or in Mid-range Hotel: Feon’ny Ala or Grace Lodge in BB.

DAY 24: ANDASIBE VISIT

After breakfast, we will explore the Analamazoatra reserve in search of the biggest lemurs called ‘Indri indri’, whose eerie calls can be heard miles away from your hotel. Mild walk in the forest would surely grant you a great deal of windows of opportunity to spot not only the indri but also other lemurs such as the golden sifaka, the eastern woolly lemurs, without forgetting some endemic birds and reptiles like the Parson chameleon, the tiny nose-horned chameleons, and so forth. Overnight at Top Hotel: Vakona Forest Lodge (Top) in BB or in Andasibe Hotel or in Mid-range Hotel: Feon’ny Ala or Grace Lodge in BB.

DAY 25: ANDASIBE –TANA –FLY HOME

We leave Andasibe and drive to Antananarivo for flight taking you back home. End of our service.
